Am I a lucky woman or what?! [livejournal.com profile] pythia_delphi wrote AND drew The Ethernet Chronicles from one of my prompts. It is so much better than anything I imagined might come out of that prompt. If you haven't read it yet, please do. I guessed it was [livejournal.com profile] pythia_delphi from her artwork, because I've fangirled her stuff at DeviantArt for a few years now. So you can imagine my delight; thank you!

I must confess, I am rather proud of this one: Master and Apprentice. Details and babbling and stuff. )

Thanks also to the mods for all the work they put in so everything goes smoothly for the rest of us!

When I finally took the Meyers-Briggs test honestly (instead of skewing the results by answering with what I want to be instead of what I actually am), I was amazed at the result.

INFPs never seem to lose their sense of wonder. One might say they see life through rose-colored glasses. It's as though they live at the edge of a looking-glass world where mundane objects come to life, where flora and fauna take on near-human qualities. INFP children often exhibit this in a 'Calvin and Hobbes' fashion, switching from reality to fantasy and back again. With few exceptions, it is the NF child who readily develops imaginary playmates (as with Anne of Green Gables's "bookcase girlfriend"--her own reflection) and whose stuffed animals come to life like the Velveteen Rabbit and the Skin Horse. INFPs have the ability to see good in almost anyone or anything. Even for the most unlovable the INFP is wont to have pity. Their extreme depth of feeling is often hidden, even from themselves, until circumstances evoke an impassioned response.

Taken and condensed from here.

With that in mind, I'm kind of surprised that the INFP example they give is Remus ... if anyone is this personality type, wouldn't it be Luna?

I've probably gone overboard here, but what the heck.

Regarding the [livejournal.com profile] sshg_exchange: "If you were considering creating a post detailing your likes and dislikes for your assigned author/artist/crafter, now is the time to do it. Everyone has received their prompts, and plots are percolating. Be aware that your assigned author/artist/crafter may not be on your flist and may be checking out your LJ, trying to determine what sort of story/artwork/craft to create for you. It would be a nice thing to make a public post, detailing what you like/dislike for the benefit of your gifter, especially if your LJ is otherwise flocked."

Dear Gifter ... )

Besides work, of course.

I finally got my act together and signed up for the SSHG Exchange. My fic prompts aren't very simple, but I did make a note that prompts are prompts ... if an art prompt makes a writer think of a fic -- or vice versa -- they should run with it.

Of course I had to include a Sherlock-related prompt in there somewhere! Insert gigglesnort here. )

Ideas for this round have bombarded me as I've looked at other participants' prompts, but I've tried not to get my heart set on any one of them ... FAIL. There's one art prompt that I did a rough draft for several months ago because I love the fic this person wrote and the moment she asked for especially, but it got set aside when I started working on those plays last summer. The writer will get my drawing eventually ... it's just a matter of when at this point. *grins*

Real life stuff. )

Bedtime! Good night, all.

Deep joy, for it is Friday. (Not quite yet for me, but it is for most of the rest of you.) Those of you at Aeternitas, have a wonderful time and take lots of photos, for I am jealous and must live vicariously!

Just ... wow. My Exchange gift has posted, and it's GORGEOUS: http://community.livejournal.com/sshg_exchange/201400.html

I got art! I'm so excited! And it's so beautiful; go look!

EXCHANGE PROJECT IS DONE!!!

Phil is exasperating and adorable all at once. (I can just see you all nodding your heads sagely right now.) And the L-word has been used once or twice.

Glee tonight! Terri's history, Jesse's a mystery, and I would give one of my ovaries to have Mercedes use and dump Puck.

Seen this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a693eod5XVY I can't wait for Toy Story 3! I've heard that the dance and the Gipsy Kings will be on DWTS tonight.

Fantastic Jimbo birthday/Mother's Day party over Da Weekend. Phil survived his first all-day family party, had a good time, and even helped with the dishes.

I can't wait for work to be over so I can go to Dad's for dinner and Glee.

I've been listening to the Gipsy Kings all weekend. They're coming to L.A. in July; I might splurge on a ticket.

I'm on fandom hiatus until further notice. I'll check in occasionally with the friends list and Ashwinder, but I'm not following any WIPs, and I have zero enthusiasm for writing or communities.

Three months after I said I would someday find the courage, I told Phil that he has a nice arse. Then I watched him walk to his car.

Been off the nutrition and fitness wagon for two weeks, and I've set myself back a pound or two. Spinach salad for lunch today and Curves in the morning should jump-start me back into submission.

What I said about communities doesn't apply to the Exchange, obviously. I am so ready for it to start. And I'll get the rest of Wolfsbane 2.0 posted soon, too.

Staff meetings won't kill you, but they sure can make you wish you were dead.

[livejournal.com profile] deemichelle and I collaborated on the artwork for [livejournal.com profile] subversa's gift, the printed version of His Draught of Delicate Poison. We've created a DeviantArt account for this collaboration, and it includes art that wasn't included in the final project. The art is being uploaded at http://dee-and-kel.deviantart.com/

All the artwork is a gift for Subversa, so if anyone wants to make icons or graphics out of any of it, you need to ask her for permission and to what extent it can be altered. If she says yes, you can ask me or DeeMichelle for the full-resolution originals without watermarks.

Now I know who to thank! Much gratitude to [livejournal.com profile] verseblack for Two Teas and Bribery, my gift at the [livejournal.com profile] sshg_exchange! It's a charming fic -- one of my favorites from this round -- and if you haven't read it yet, I highly recommend it. Plotting, sarcasm, and the promise of romance to come; I love it!

I can also own up to writing Meeting Frederick for Shug. Much gratitude to Losille, Subversa, and Mom for their mad beta reading skills. Even though I had to coach Mom through the Shrieking Shack flashback, since she thinks Severus died there. Silly Mom! Gratitude also to Jimbo, who was working in Monterey and told me everything that I didn't remember from my own vacations that took me through there.

(Shug, dear, your birthday present is the fic I've been working on since I got your prompts. *sheepish grin* I'm still plugging away, never fear, and hope to start posting by the summer.)

Now that it's all out, I have to ask [livejournal.com profile] elise_wanderer: did you know it was mine before you mentioned it? I can't quite believe it's a coincidence that "Meeting Frederick" is the one fic you mentioned by name. I would have kept a straight face if Mom hadn't forgotten it's an anonymous exchange. Although I did tell Bambu a few days before.

My apologies to all for being such a rotten reviewer. Now that everything's in one place, I'm looking at my favorites, rereading them, and to my horror, I find all too often that I didn't leave a review. *hands head*

And it's so cute! My present from my anonymous benefactor, Two Teas and Bribery, has been posted at the [livejournal.com profile] sshg_exchange.

Author: Not Revealed Yet
Rating: G
Warnings: None
Summary: Hermione convinces Snape that a Hogwarts reunion might not be so bad.

I love it. Go read!

Sock puppet LJ set up? Check.

Breakfast dishes washed, so I can read with a clear conscience? Check.

IT'S STARTED, IT'S STARTED! Go look!
