This is "You've Been Crying."

Pic Youve Been Crying shrunk

I participated under the name [livejournal.com profile] rampaging_panda at [livejournal.com profile] holmestice. [livejournal.com profile] sc010f was my recipient, so I chose her Mycroft/Lestrade fic All That You Build, All That You Break to illustrate. A larger version, picture details, and disclaimer are available at DeviantArt here.

I also received a lovely fic this round: Singularity. (Though I don't know who wrote it yet; the mods are having trouble with coding, so they said we could go ahead and act like the Big Reveal had happened. I'll edit as soon as I have a name so I know who to thank properly.) Very nice astronomy metaphor, and it's John-centric, which makes me think the author knows me. Or else I just lucked out!

finished!

Fourth Doctor Bookmark
by ~Keladry-Lupin on deviantART

This is something I've been working on for the last several months, and I've finally put on the last stitch and washed and pressed it. I just liked the scarf, so I found a knitting pattern for it online, used the software I got online to build the chart, and started stitching in my spare time. I have plans to make a bookmark for myself at some point (either Jeeves or the Ninth Doctor), but I have a queue of four right now, so I won't be working on that any time soon.

Disclaimers (this is fanart, after all) and specific information (floss colors, etc.) are at DA.

Dear friends for whom I've made similar projects: if/when it's convenient, would you please take a photo or scan what I've sent to you and e-mail me the image so I can catalog them? I lost all my scans of past projects when my laptop died, and the data can't be retrieved.

Post edited because of reasons.

Am I a lucky woman or what?! [livejournal.com profile] pythia_delphi wrote AND drew The Ethernet Chronicles from one of my prompts. It is so much better than anything I imagined might come out of that prompt. If you haven't read it yet, please do. I guessed it was [livejournal.com profile] pythia_delphi from her artwork, because I've fangirled her stuff at DeviantArt for a few years now. So you can imagine my delight; thank you!

I must confess, I am rather proud of this one: Master and Apprentice. Details and babbling and stuff. )

Thanks also to the mods for all the work they put in so everything goes smoothly for the rest of us!

Snape Is Soo Sexy
by ~SnapeisSexy on deviantART

Look familiar to you? This is Marquise's work that was on Playwitch years ago. SnapeisSexy is displaying it in her gallery and responding to comments like she's the one who created it. I've reported the theft, and even though Playwitch is no longer online to prove the date and Marquise's ownership, the Playwitch logo is on the artwork itself. Don't just leave a comment for this ersatz artist like you're reviewing it; PLEASE REPORT THIS THEFT TO THE MODS. I did ask Marquise first if this was hers, and she confirmed that it is. (As if the Playwitch copyright logo at the bottom left didn't give it away.)

I agonize over my fanfic and my fanart. For ages. And while the final results are pleasing (according to the reviews), I consider myself to be merely adequate at both. So when some pissant twerp takes something that's exceptional and claims it as her own, it's one of the few things that can shorten my fuse from very long indeed to almost nothing.

[livejournal.com profile] deemichelle and I collaborated on the artwork for [livejournal.com profile] subversa's gift, the printed version of His Draught of Delicate Poison. We've created a DeviantArt account for this collaboration, and it includes art that wasn't included in the final project. The art is being uploaded at http://dee-and-kel.deviantart.com/

All the artwork is a gift for Subversa, so if anyone wants to make icons or graphics out of any of it, you need to ask her for permission and to what extent it can be altered. If she says yes, you can ask me or DeeMichelle for the full-resolution originals without watermarks.

All Through the Night
by ~Keladry-Lupin on deviantART

I've been wanting to draw this since I first read chapter twelve where Hermione sings the spell to make the sheet for Professor Snape. Took me a while, but I finally got around to it!

(Its title on DeviantArt is All Through the Night, but that's only because I My Loved One's Watch Am Keeping is too long, according to them.)

Scraps under the cut for anyone who's interested. )

halp!

[livejournal.com profile] caeria has asked me an LJ question that I don't know the answer to. She posted a fic heading and author notes in this entry at her journal and put the chapter itself behind a cut. The cut works fine, but while the fic details are showing up, the author notes aren't visible unless you highlight them. Black text on a black background. I don't know a whole lot about this kind of thing; if you've got a few minutes and you know a thing or two about LJ formatting and such, would you be so kind as to take a look here and here and help her out?

Thanks!

Art is coming along very well. Spent an hour on it tonight. I'm going off to bed in a few, and it's still not finished, but it's progressing nicely. (Squee.)

Since I'm more than halfway done with my PIF presents (I'm sending them all out at once when they're all done), and [livejournal.com profile] droxy has issued a challenge to us drabble writers, I am offering the best bribe I can think of. To the first six active [livejournal.com profile] grangersnape100 Spies and Death Eaters who will commit to joining the Order outright for six months, I will commit to drawing a character or scene from the fic of your choice before those six months are out.

YOU:

1. You need to have posted six drabble ENTRIES between 1 October 2007 and 31 March 2008. Each post in a serial counts as one entry (even if there were 22 drabbles in that entry, it only counts as one); this includes every chapter of Yuletide Potions, for those of you who participated. Provide links to at least one of your drabbles, so I can click the author tag and ferret out the rest.

1A. If your first-ever GS100 drabble was posted more recently than six months ago, I want to see at least one post to GS100 for every CALENDAR month since you started writing drabbles. (Example: if your first was in December -- even 31 December -- I want a minimum of four entries to GS100 between 1 December and 31 March. Doesn't matter when exactly they were posted, just so there's an average of one a month. Savvy?)

2. You commit to making at least twelve drabble entries (not just 12 x 100 in one or three entries) for the Order between now and Halloween, all under the banner of the Order of the Phoenix. And join the Order outright, please, even if your spy points have always gone to the Order in the past. This means ALL your drabble points earned between now and Halloween go to the Order. (I will be keeping track.)

ME:

1. You name the Potterverse fic, and you may express a preference for certain scenes/chapters, but I choose what I will draw. Know this: I have not yet succeeded in drawing more than two people in one picture to my satisfaction, so please keep that in mind (to keep me sane). Also, whatever I draw will be work-safe. The artwork will be yours (online); you may make icons/wallpaper and share them (or not). The artwork will also be posted in my DA gallery. Or it could be a simple portrait of a single character, if that is what you wish.

2. The switch is easy for you, but your drabbles and my drawings will take time for us to conjure. However, I shan't wait until after Halloween to post the drawings; I'll post each when it's done. Satisfaction is NOT guaranteed; go to my gallery to decide if it's worth joining the risk of joining the Order or not. (You can see that I am drawing backgrounds now, if that makes any difference!) And if someone specific is your Severus or Hermione (or Remus or Millicent or whoever), please point me in their direction -- I can draw other people besides Alan Rickman!

My journal, my bribe, my rules (which are subject to change if you make puppy-dog eyes; I am a Hufflepuff, after all). I know I'm not the best fanartist out there (not by a long shot), but a Keladry drawing is yours, if you qualify and you reply quickly enough. Ask if you want clarification on any of my picky, fussy, entirely bend-able rules.

For [livejournal.com profile] camillo1978's fic Five Doxy Wings, which can be found here:

Nearly all the Hogwarts teaching staff had gathered in the packed pub on Christmas Eve, and as usual, the main entertainment had consisted of everybody buying the Headmaster a drink and watching him get utterly toasted.

Headmaster Snape was a charming drunk, tending to smile lazily at whoever happened to talk to him. It was extremely disconcerting, and the staff adored watching it happen.

A Charming Drunk
by ~Keladry-Lupin on deviantART

Happy Tuesday, Dahling.
keladry_lupin: (Worried)
The good news is that I figured out what was wrong with the drawing I did for Camillo. It's the eyes and eyebrows, not the smile, that look wrong. (Amazing, what a difference a few degrees in eyebrows makes.)

The bad news is that I figured it out as I was holding it in my hands, ready to take it out the door this morning. No time to correct it before work. Since I don't care to share my unique (read: WEIRD) hobbies of fanfic and fanart with my co-workers (I don't like being looked at oddly or fawned over), the correction will be done tonight at home. If the correction goes well, it'll be scanned, cropped, and posted tomorrow.

I wouldn't post and remind you guys of this, except I don't want anyone to stay up late or haunt my LJ on my account. *ducks and hides*

*is drawing and humming "The Twelve Days of Christmas" over and over*

I have the most disgusting habit of putting my pencils in my mouth when I'm drawing. It wouldn't be disgusting, except for the fact that the paint on the pencils keeps chipping off. Yuck. (Aren't you glad I shared that with you?)

Two hours later: I have six pencils and a cardboard blender stuck in my hair. I look like an alien. My back is killing me from bending over the kitchen table -- parallel lines are a bitch -- but this is a dozen times more fun than washing the dishes.
keladry_lupin: (Oooo Inge)
Between computer difficulties and my terrible absent-mindedness, I never saved and showed you all my lovely Christmas (or was it birthday?) gift from the lovely and talented [livejournal.com profile] averygoodun. (It's still languishing in my e-mail because I keep forgetting to bring a disc from home to save it.) It's a scene from the first chapter of She Was Beautiful to Him, and its title is Kindred. Avery posted it to DeviantArt a few days ago, so now I'm delighted to share it with you: http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/51102298/

Please go look and leave a comment for her. I was absolutely stunned when I first saw it! Ain't I lucky?

(Progress report: the next chapter has been returned by the lovely Britpicker and is now at the lovely betas' for pressing. Though they have a bit more than the usual "pressing" to do, bless them.)
keladry_lupin: (Default)
So I've had a Deviant Art account for a year or two. I started it so I could keep track of [livejournal.com profile] usagistu's and [livejournal.com profile] buttfacemakani's work, mostly, but then I decided to try drawing again. I posted "Lucy," rather pleased with myself, then came back a day later and decided it was crap. (My opinion about it has improved, a little. Very little. But I didn't take it down.)

Fast forward to last month. Drawing my art prompt for the SSHG Exchange has nudged my mental doors open, a little. I have three more pieces up, and have added my DA page to my LJ navigation bar. If anyone is interested, here's the address:

http://keladry-lupin.deviantart.com/

Be sure to look at my favorites page; there's some really good stuff there. Heavy on Usagistu and Makani, but I mentioned that already.

Now I have a list of about five drawings I want to get done, over the next few months. Including a self-portrait, which I'll use as an ID at DA. Drawing ideas are worse them plot bunnies, sometimes!
