This is "You've Been Crying."

I participated under the name [livejournal.com profile] rampaging_panda at [livejournal.com profile] holmestice. [livejournal.com profile] sc010f was my recipient, so I chose her Mycroft/Lestrade fic All That You Build, All That You Break to illustrate. A larger version, picture details, and disclaimer are available at DeviantArt here.

I also received a lovely fic this round: Singularity. (Though I don't know who wrote it yet; the mods are having trouble with coding, so they said we could go ahead and act like the Big Reveal had happened. I'll edit as soon as I have a name so I know who to thank properly.) Very nice astronomy metaphor, and it's John-centric, which makes me think the author knows me. Or else I just lucked out!

I'm too sleepy for brevity or proper organizing this morning, but it's mostly good stuff. )

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] averygoodun for the very cute Blue Dragon! It brought a smile to my face the moment I saw it.

My original plans for Saturday have been shot to hell, but the inconvenience was minimal. Read more... )

And now the Fandom Meme, as ganked from Dicky! Read more... )

Am I a lucky woman or what?! [livejournal.com profile] pythia_delphi wrote AND drew The Ethernet Chronicles from one of my prompts. It is so much better than anything I imagined might come out of that prompt. If you haven't read it yet, please do. I guessed it was [livejournal.com profile] pythia_delphi from her artwork, because I've fangirled her stuff at DeviantArt for a few years now. So you can imagine my delight; thank you!

I must confess, I am rather proud of this one: Master and Apprentice. Details and babbling and stuff. )

Thanks also to the mods for all the work they put in so everything goes smoothly for the rest of us!

I haven't smiled this much in weeks. My [livejournal.com profile] sshg_exchange gift posted earlier this week, and I finally had time to read and properly appreciate it. And what a gift it is!

Title: The Ethernet Chronicles
Author: Temporarily Disillusioned
Rating: PG-13, for profanity and innuendo
Warnings: Post-DH, EWE, Character Non-Death (Severus Snape, Fred Weasley and Vincent Crabbe), some good-natured Ron-bashing, some not so good-natured Molly bashing, characters possibly OOC.
Genre: Comedy, Farce, Fluff, Friendship, Romance
Summary: Post Vold-War II, the Wizarding World has adopted a new-fangled notion: blogging!
Word Count: 20,074
Author's Note: This fic is based on the kind of entries found in the BBC blogs made for the characters of the TV show Sherlock, as per the prompt. I have also incorporated formatting elements of LJ, Google Buzz, GChat, etc. to best suit the narrative arc; however, no prior knowledge of the TV show or its associated blogs is necessary. For fans of the show, there may be a couple of subtle nods to Sherlock. Hugs and smooches to my fantabulous beta [name redacted], for her super-lightning-fast beta work and stupendous suggestions which spruced this fic into ship-shape and Bristol fashion. Any remaining mistakes and inconsistencies are entirely due to my own obstinacy and/or laziness. My fervent admiration and gratitude also go to my coding wizard, [livejournal.com profile] scatteredlogic. I also owe several life debts to the Mods for their immense patience, forbearance and generosity while I wibbled, whined, whinged and went well over the submission deadline. And finally, huge, heartfelt thanks go to [livejournal.com profile] keladry_lupin for an absolutely amazing prompt which grabbed me by the horns and grew into monstrous proportions. I do hope this is something like what you envisaged, and that you enjoy it at least as much as I enjoyed wrestling it into submission.
Disclaimer: I don’t own 'Harry Potter' or 'Sherlock', and I make no money off this venture.
Original Prompt: Write a blog. It could be a You've Got Mail or The Shop around the Corner scenario, or just the blog (including friends' comments) of either Severus or Hermione as their relationship evolves from whatever it was (you choose) into a friendship and/or romance. Entries of irrelevant stuff (like the shopping, hobbies, and other commenters' replies) would be a hoot, though I realize that might make it a bit too time consuming. I got the idea from [a] Sherlock (BBC) AU fanfic, though I'm not asking for anything that detailed.

Me again. As if the laughs and romance weren't enough, there's some beautiful art embedded within the fic. Please read and review if you haven't already!

Today, I am grateful that I go back Into the Woods tomorrow. I miss my chums.

My old bunny slippers were getting shredded on the concrete outside and astroturf on stage, so I ordered new ones Monday, and they arrived today. Holy cow, are they beautiful. I'd rather patch the old ones to keep them together for four more weekends than shred the new ones in the play, especially since they were $30!

Today, I am grateful that Mom is coming home this weekend. She had planned to stay at the Jimbos' and babysit while Jimbo and Chris came to the play, but Chris's dad's birthday party is this weekend, so Mom's off the hook. It means I have to clean liek woah tonight and tomorrow night to make the place habitable for a normal person, but it's all fine since Mom's coming home. I've really missed her.

Yesterday, I was grateful for cool breezes as I stood outside in between acts. I was also grateful for the cotton nightgown I wear as Granny. I originally had costume envy when everyone else is in velvet and taffeta in bright colors, but a white cotton nightgown is the best costume when it's 90 F outside.

Today, I cannot express how grateful I am that we had a matinee and that I've been home for an hour already. I've showered the play makeup, hair spray, and sweat off. I have to pick my Pampered Chef order up from a friend, and then I am in for the night; I shall spend some time at [livejournal.com profile] writingbuds this evening before I hit the sack at a reasonable hour.

Today is more of an It-Made-My-Day thing rather than being gratitudinal. I normally don't like overhearing phone conversations, but when the person I can hear says "I love you," it always makes me smile.

On his birthday, I am grateful for the laughs, ponderings, and enlightenment I've received from this bloke:

Today, I'm grateful for another night at home. All I'm going to do is get Chinese takeout and wash clothes and dishes. I might even clean the living room a little or spend some time sorting mail and pampering the Beastie Boys. Or (this is an embarrassing one) unpacking the shopping bags from a week ago Friday.

Whatever the heck I do, the point is that I don't know exactly what I'll be doing after work, and boy, am I glad of it.

Turns out there is life after opening weekend. Sort of. )

Yesterday, I was grateful to see my friend Bill after the show. He walked me to my car, and we talked about what we're planning on doing next, theater-wise.

Today, I'm grateful that Marla was able to fit my parents into the audience, so they came to see me this afternoon. Then they took me out to dinner, and I have leftovers in the fridge.

Bonus for today: I have the evening off. I'm expecting a phone call from Dad, but other than that, I'm not answering the door or phone ... I shall sit in Mom's chair with an improving book before going to bed at a decent hour for the first time in weeks.

LOL of the week: Nine year old Emily listened to a conversation between Steward!Chris and Florinda!Sara when Sara talked about some of blind!Florinda's sight gags during the second act. She thinks she's brushing Cinderella's hair, but she brushes Lucinda's arm, the Steward's face, and her mother's bosom before the scene is over. Emily pointed to Chris and spoke to Sara, saying, "You should run the brush over his bald spot ...."

She didn't get much further, because Chris had bowed his head, I had dissolved into silent, wheezing laughs, and Sara had pulled her skirt over her head to keep the laughs contained. Emily didn't get why mentioning Chris's bald spot (he's in his early twenties and really thinning) was so funny. Poor Chris.

Today, I am grateful for a good, solid opening night performance from everyone. There were a few missed lines and one early entrance, but he kept it in character. We all felt great afterward, and almost everyone had friends and/or family to greet them after. Tonight, we're all going out for drinks after to celebrate opening night.

Here are five happy things that have nothing whatsoever to do with the play (even though I've mentioned one of them earlier this week).

1. instead of Where's Waldo or Where's Wally, it's Where's WALL-E: http://i.imgur.com/U1GU1.jpg

2. I wrote 3,000-ish words this week on a fic that fills two BBC Sherlock prompts

3. LOL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ooODVEDFOMk

4. cuddles from sweet Boo-Cat (he's very poorly but fighting it)

5. I was afraid I'd caught my coworker's cold earlier this week, but I was just dehydrated

Opening night timeline. )

Other stuff. )

Today, I am grateful for caffeine.

*takes an Advil with a swig of Dr Pepper*
keladry_lupin: (Work (Nazgul))
Today, I am grateful for flexible hours at work. Boss M has given permission for me to work four hours a day all this week so I can get sleep while the last ItW rehearsals and first few performances stretch into the wee small hours of the morning. (This is why I've tried to save vacation time for the last few months.)

I could have taken all five days completely off, but that would be foolish for a number of reasons: I don't want anyone else trying to do my job, the theater is close enough to work that the daily home-work-theater-home commute is only a few miles more than the home-work-home or home-theater-home round trip, I'd get freaked out if I stayed at home with nothing to do during the day, and I want to save vacation hours so I can take a week off in November for Thanksgiving/Christmas prep and hobbit hole cleaning.

So yeah. Big time gratitude for this one.

BTW, want to take down a plagiarist? Someone has taken a published novel and changed the characters' names to make it into Twilight fic. (I couldn't care less about the Twilight fandom, but I'm rather passionate about intellectual property ethics.) Details are here:

http://www.cynthiaeden.com/romance/plagiarism-sucks/

Let's go get 'em.

I've been really tired lately -- surprise, surprise -- so today, I am grateful for the audio books that have kept me awake and laughing during commutes to and from work and the theater.

*skids in*

Today, I am grateful for a rehearsal that went eight hours instead of the expected twelve. (The director and crew will be there for a few more hours, though.)
keladry_lupin: (Blergh (Bertie))
Today, I am grateful that I have an evening off from exhausting but enjoyable rehearsals and that I'm only working half a day so I can get a damned good thrashing from my chiropractor this afternoon.
keladry_lupin: (I Have No Idea What I'm Doing out of Bed)
Today, I am grateful that the writing bug bit me last night, even though it kept me awake until 03:30. I churned out almost 1,100 words of ideas and scenes in three hours. It'd need lots of refining before I post it -- it's far too angsty as is; I get maudlin when I'm tired -- but I think it has potential to be a good, solid fic if I follow through. (Which I rarely do.) And it just felt so good to write again!
keladry_lupin: (Busted (Mulan))
Today, I'm grateful for family and friends who are patient with me even though I put other things before them. I'm sure it irritates them at times, but they understand and are supportive. (Or at least, they don't gripe about it.)
