Yesterday, I was grateful to see my friend Bill after the show. He walked me to my car, and we talked about what we're planning on doing next, theater-wise.
Today, I'm grateful that Marla was able to fit my parents into the audience, so they came to see me this afternoon. Then they took me out to dinner, and I have leftovers in the fridge.
Bonus for today: I have the evening off. I'm expecting a phone call from Dad, but other than that, I'm not answering the door or phone ... I shall sit in Mom's chair with an improving book before going to bed at a decent hour for the first time in weeks.
LOL of the week: Nine year old Emily listened to a conversation between Steward!Chris and Florinda!Sara when Sara talked about some of blind!Florinda's sight gags during the second act. She thinks she's brushing Cinderella's hair, but she brushes Lucinda's arm, the Steward's face, and her mother's bosom before the scene is over. Emily pointed to Chris and spoke to Sara, saying, "You should run the brush over his bald spot ...."
She didn't get much further, because Chris had bowed his head, I had dissolved into silent, wheezing laughs, and Sara had pulled her skirt over her head to keep the laughs contained. Emily didn't get why mentioning Chris's bald spot (he's in his early twenties and really thinning) was so funny. Poor Chris.
