This happy list is rather rambly, so I've cut it. )

This is a brilliant story. I've heard a lot of cool things about Alice Cooper over the years. A coworker's nephew had a band that opened for Alice Cooper in some times ago and had a lot of good things to say about him. Though I don't like his music much, I really do consider myself to be a fan of his.

My aunt who passed away last year would have loved this story. She practically worshiped Elvis.

I notice that Phill Jupitus has lost weight. As a very fat bird, I hate it when someone utters the phrases "you look good" and "you've lost weight" within an hour of each other, because it always makes me wonder how horrible I looked before. From the first time I saw him on QI six years ago, I've thought Phill was a fucking doll, but now I have to take back the sentiment I just expressed about "you look good" and "you lost weight," because as cute as I've always thought he was, I think he's a smidgen cuter now. (Just a little.) I'm liking the grey hair and stubble, too.

I finally figured out why I've been smiling so much lately. Every time I turn on my computer at home or minimize all the windows, I gurgle with laughter when I see this funny face:

I'M ON UR DESKTOP, LOOKIN OUT. )

So what's on your desktops?

Holy cow! LJ seems to be working!

In which I talk mostly about play stuff, including the vagina wall (if that doesn't get you to click on the cut, I don't know what will). )

*waves to the flist* I missed you guys!

I spent hours last night looking at photos of Martin Freeman, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Rupert Graves for a Sherlock fanart. In which I ramble on FAR too long about cute boys. )

*sighs happily* Looking for just the right photos of these guys is a tough job, but someone's gotta do it.

squeeeee!

After all the excited posts I've seen about last night's broadcast of Frankenstein into cinemas everywhere, I took the plunge and bought tickets for two performances! The first day will have Benedict as the Creature and JLM as Victor, and then the next week the roles are swapped. I'll ask Phil tonight if he's interested as soon as I check to make sure I'm not working The Crucible on Sunday the 3rd; if I am, I'm out of luck for that day, but from what I've heard, the general consensus is that it works a tiny bit better with JLM as the Creature and Benedict as Victor, so if I was going to see one, the 10th would be the one I'd choose. It'd be worth the $44 I paid for both tickets to just see that one.

I'm excited! *crosses fingers that I won't have to work the 3rd*

keladry_lupin: (LOL (Sherlock and John))
I found a Black Books/Sherlock crossover fic a week or three ago and absolutely loved it, so I put Black Books at the top of my Netflix queue because I like Bill Bailey. It arrived today, so I pulled out my Sherlock DVD and put in a Black Books DVD from Netflix. Weird but really funny, and then I nearly fell over halfway through the first episode when the delicious young doctor treating Manny had a familiar voice. I scrambled over the coffee table (much less elegantly than Sherlock does when he just steps over it) so I could see (still haven't replaced my glasses, and I'm getting more myopic by the minute), and look who it was!!! Baby Doctor John Watson! SQUEEE!!! )

*runs around squeeing like a demented, sleep-deprived fangirl*

eye candy!

Leonard Nimoy is going to talk about his career at the Carpenter Center in Long Beach on Saturday. I am almost sick with disappointment because the church play we've worked months on is performing that night, and I'm needed backstage, so I can't go. But what I can't figure out is: Why on earth did this not sell out months ago?! I got an e-mail advertising tickets for sale a few minutes ago, and I am stunned that there are any available.

I've spent the last month loathing our producer with the fire of a thousand suns because she's the one who scheduled the play for this weekend.

Many of you know who Dara O'Briain is, but for those of you who don't, here's my favorite ever moment of his. He's giving a bit of advice to Jo, who's engaged to Scott. Beware of potty mouth:

I think what I like best about Dara's stand-up is how he interacts with the audience, and he's very quick to take anything an audience member says and make it funny for everyone. So just sit back, relax, and LISTEN.

Hugh Laurie is in the running to be named Hello Magazine's Most Attractive Man of the Year. I realize that some of you, when you get there, may decide to vote for Hugh Jackman instead (I certainly wouldn't blame you), but please go here and vote anyway!

protowilson is a queen of Alan Rickman fanart. She's drawn Severus Snape several times, along with Alexander Dane, Judge Turpin, Jamie, and Valmont. In addition to her mad drawing skillz, she also has a wicked sense of humor, so go take a look, laugh, and tell her how yummy her artwork is!
