When I finally took the Meyers-Briggs test honestly (instead of skewing the results by answering with what I want to be instead of what I actually am), I was amazed at the result.

INFPs never seem to lose their sense of wonder. One might say they see life through rose-colored glasses. It's as though they live at the edge of a looking-glass world where mundane objects come to life, where flora and fauna take on near-human qualities. INFP children often exhibit this in a 'Calvin and Hobbes' fashion, switching from reality to fantasy and back again. With few exceptions, it is the NF child who readily develops imaginary playmates (as with Anne of Green Gables's "bookcase girlfriend"--her own reflection) and whose stuffed animals come to life like the Velveteen Rabbit and the Skin Horse. INFPs have the ability to see good in almost anyone or anything. Even for the most unlovable the INFP is wont to have pity. Their extreme depth of feeling is often hidden, even from themselves, until circumstances evoke an impassioned response.

Taken and condensed from here.

With that in mind, I'm kind of surprised that the INFP example they give is Remus ... if anyone is this personality type, wouldn't it be Luna?

It's Friday; I can always find cool things to blog about on Fridays.

♥♥♥ Mom woke up with a swollen face yesterday. She had no idea it was coming or what caused it. No other symptoms. So she took her list of medications with her and trudged off to the nearest urgent care. The doctors think it's an allergic reaction to one of the medications she started taking a few weeks back, so she's been given alternate regular meds as well as stuff to make the allergic symptoms go away.

One of those allergy meds is some kind of steroid, and I immediately thought of my allergic reaction when I was in Texas and how grateful I was to [livejournal.com profile] ginny_weasley31, [livejournal.com profile] ozratbag2, and [livejournal.com profile] misstee123 for taking the time to double-check my prescription and advise me on how to taper off the dosage. (Steroid withdrawal is serious business, and that Texas doctor gave me a daily dosage that these three nurses had never seen outside of an intensive care unit ... and then it was just going to stop cold turkey after several days. I would have been freaking out from severe head and muscle aches and wouldn't have any idea what was happening to me if they hadn't warned me. As it was, I spent two weeks hurting and then aching, but at least I knew why it was happening and that it would stop eventually.)

♥ A pair of shoes I've been waiting for months to get became available this morning. On payday, how convenient! I snatched 'em up.

♥♥ I have a weekend of flying solo ahead. Dad had a tooth pulled last night, so I'll stop by his place with a Jamba smoothie tomorrow, and I'll see Phil tonight or tomorrow and probably spend Sunday evening with him, but other than that, I'm on my own.

♥♥ I baked a couple of pillow cookies and used the cookie dough to make eight regular cookies (without the brownie inside) last night. They're a little dry on their own, but they're perfect with a glass of milk. Nom nom nom.

♥♥♥ One of my favorite live performances keeps getting pulled from YouTube, but then some other brave soul posts it again a month or two later:

I adore the harmony.

♥♥ I've gone looking at Sherlock prompts to see if I can get the writing bug again. I found one that's similar to something I researched as a post-battle Beautiful plot, so I'm looking into writing that one. Two others caught my attention, so I'll see what I can do.

♥♥ Exchange recipient's prompts are tough but not impossible. When I first got my assignment, I looked at the with a WTF expression on my face for a few minutes and then shrugged. Seriously Fun Research and an initial outline have begun.

♥♥♥ I must admit that fanart for a Sherlock BBC fanfic is a little more fun to contemplate, though. I started looking at photos for a charming one-shot and reread it only to find someone had beat me to the punch (a much cuter fanart than I could have managed is embedded at the bottom of the fic), so I reread another one-shot and visualized a befuddled, cross-eyed Sherlock with a grinning John's finger on his nose. (It makes sense in the context of the fic.) If I can manage to get Lestrade LOLing in there too, it will be my magnum opus. The drawing pencils are out!

♥♥ As is the embroidery box for the late-late projects.

♥♥♥ Phil brought over a huge binder full of songs he's had for about fifteen years. He's an excellent pianist who played regularly for a friend of his a while back, and she gave him copies of all the songs she sang. He's turned it over to me so I can look for an audition song in there. We're talking at least 75 songs in there; this is fantastic!
