keladry_lupin: (Can Anyone See My Nipples?)
It's been almost a year since I've posted an IMDB game, so I thought I'd have a bit of fun on this gloomy Monday.

You know the drill: I list five keywords from IMDB.com, and you guess the film I'm talking about. I strike the keywords out once the movie is guessed correctly, give the name, and acknowledge the first person(s) to get it right.

Note: I have a few sequels and remakes in here, but I've done my best to make it obvious which one it is.

I held off for a while because I've done another IMDB meme three times in the last year, but then I realized this was a slightly different meme, so here's my version of the latest that's doing the rounds.

1. Pick 10-20 your favorite movies.
2. Go to IMDb and find a quote from each movie.
3. Post them here for everyone to guess.
4. Fill in the film title once it's guessed.
5. NO GOOGLING/using IMDb search functions.

1. Ahhh! Woooh! What's happening? Who am I? Why am I here? What's my purpose in life? What do I mean by who am I? Okay okay, calm down calm down get a grip now. Ooh, this is an interesting sensation. What is it? Its a sort of tingling in my... well I suppose I better start finding names for things. Lets call it a... tail! Yeah! Tail! And hey, what's this roaring sound, whooshing past what I'm suddenly gonna call my head? Wind! Is that a good name? It'll do. Yeah, this is really exciting. I'm dizzy with anticipation! Or is it the wind? There's an awful lot of that now isn't it? And what's this thing coming toward me very fast? So big and flat and round, it needs a big wide sounding name like 'Ow', 'Ownge', 'Round', 'Ground'! That's it! Ground! Ha! I wonder if it'll be friends with me? Hello Ground! The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy [livejournal.com profile] moreteadk

2. You're wondering, "What is a place like me doing in a girl like this?" The Mummy [livejournal.com profile] morethansirius

3. I'm an adult. I want to have fun. I want to go to Liverpool and discover the Beatles.

3a. But we had heat, baby. Passion! Fire! We owe it to ourselves to fuse together, at least one more time. Peggy Sue Got Married [livejournal.com profile] melusin_79

4. The cabin always smelled like urine. That's how you found it when you came uphill in the dark.

4a. We really ought to spend the rest of the week coming up with an elaborate way to kill those two.

Nobody got Indian Summer!

5. I hope John advises him against it. After all we know nothing about her parents. They could be pirates! Emma [livejournal.com profile] sshg316

6. I was thinking... you're nice, but you can't help me.

6a. They used to hang people here. The Sixth Sense [livejournal.com profile] hjsnapepm and [livejournal.com profile] averygoodun got it simultaneously!

7. I'm flattered that you like my ass.

7a. Here's my kiss and you can fax me your hug. Moonlight and Valentino [livejournal.com profile] morethansirius

8. Bless us oh Lord for these thine gifts which we are about to recieve. And uh... ye Lord, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of no food, I shall fear no hunger. We want you to give us our day of daily bread. And to the republic for which it stands... by the powers vested in me, I pronounce us ready to eat. Amen. Sister Act [livejournal.com profile] moreteadk

Marriage is indeed a maneuvering business. Mansfield Park [livejournal.com profile] averygoodun

We first played this in April, and I brought it back out in July. If you're tired of playing, pass on by, but if you aren't, here's the IMDB Keyword Game again:

[01] -- Go to IMDB.com and look up 20 movies.
[02] -- Post five official IMDB "Plot Keywords" for each movie.
[03] -- Have your friends guess the movie names.

Boy, you guys are good! This didn't take long at all:

1. The Mummy: ancient burial ground, color remake of B&W movie, Biblical plagues, camel, brother sister relationship [livejournal.com profile] bluestocking79 and [livejournal.com profile] casualmonday got this simultaneously!

2. Tootsie: cocktail party, acting lesson, audition, gender disguise, soap opera [livejournal.com profile] droxy

3. Sleepless in Seattle: destiny, Empire State Building New York, grief, radio, widower [livejournal.com profile] gardengrrl13

4. The Adventures of Robin Hood: archery, england, outlaw, gentleman thief, usurper [livejournal.com profile] droxy; [livejournal.com profile] gardengrrl13recognized it as a Robin Hood movie, but she added "Prince of Thieves" to it, so she missed on a technicality. Errol Flynn, not Costner or Elwes ... though Elwes is yummy, too. (Next time I do this game, remind me not to do any movies that have remakes. It's too tough to guess which one it is, unless -- like in #1 -- I say it's a remake.)

5. Enchanted: part animated, fish out of water, Central Park New York, misunderstanding, prince [livejournal.com profile] hjsnapepm

6. Ratatouille: food, separation from family, whimsical, restaurant, puppetry [livejournal.com profile] casualmonday

7. A Fish Called Wanda: naked man, American in the UK, key, run over by a steamroller, dog killed [livejournal.com profile] droxy

8. Return to Me: death of wife, Irish Catholic, restaurant, Italy, heart [livejournal.com profile] gardengrrl13

9. Babe: fable, fear of death, Christmas, duck, underdog [livejournal.com profile] minuet99

10. The Lion in Winter: dysfunctional marriage, heir, medieval, brother brother relationship, mother son relationship [livejournal.com profile] hjsnapepm

11. Who Framed Roger Rabbit: Hollywood, run over by a steamroller, buxom, racism, 1940s [livejournal.com profile] gardengrrl13

12. Spaceballs: Winnebago, princess, wedding ceremony gone awry, planet of the apes, parody [livejournal.com profile] gardengrrl13

13. Blade Runner: melancholy, Los Angeles California, origami, detective, murder [livejournal.com profile] droxy

14. The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: pub, demolition, bathrobe, based on radio show, meaning of life [livejournal.com profile] tudorpot

15. Gosford Park: 1930s, class differences, fake accent, mother son relationship, maid [livejournal.com profile] tudorpot

16. Monty Python and the Holy Grail: suspected witch, plague, dismemberment, quest, cult movie cast [livejournal.com profile] snarkywench_64 (I feel happy!)

17. Love, Actually: multiple story line, Christmas, crush, language barrier, Wisconsin [livejournal.com profile] hjsnapepm

18. Indian Summer: reunion, independent film, nostalgia, thirty something, summer camp [livejournal.com profile] minuet99

19. Grumpy Old Men: Internal Revenue Service, bloopers during credits, Minnesota, rivalry, ice fishing [livejournal.com profile] bluestocking79

20. That Thing You Do!: appliance store, nameless character, 1960s, directed by star, fictional band [livejournal.com profile] sshg316

extra-tough bonus (or so I thought): Boundin': jackalope, singing, self esteem, dancing, sheep shearing [livejournal.com profile] gardengrrl13

I admit: I was LOL at the fact that I thought of two movies with "run over by a steamroller" in the keywords. 'Cause that's not a common plot device ....
