But I'm sending the next chapter of "She Was Beautiful to Him" to the Britpicker today (as soon as I get a response), and then I'll send it to the betas after that. I'm using the phrase "two weeks' notice" as kind of a heads-up: I expect to post it at OWL (and submit it to SH) within two weeks. So for those of you who are still interested in and loyal to this fic (I'm kissing the hems of your garments in gratitude), if you need to re-read it to remember "What was that story about?" now's the time to do it.

(Chapter seventeen -- CHAPTER THE LAST -- is already mostly written. Despite binning all of sixteen and re-starting it from scratch about three weeks ago, the end result is the same. I'll only have to change a few details in seventeen, and it'll be ready for the betas. So I'll post that chapter no later than Easter.)

In the unlikely event you haven't yet heard about it, there's a community that's been established with the purpose of everyone re-reading all six Severus Snape books Harry Potter books before Deathly Hallows comes out on 21st July: read_hp. They have a reading schedule here; we start on Philosopher's Stone on Monday.

Just wanted to give you all a heads-up. There will also be a discussion of the chapters read each day.

metafrantic has started a new community. It's called 10k_drabbles, and the idea is that everyone writes ONE 100-word drabble. Only one drabble per writer. But there's only one drabble per pairing, and the pairings are claimed on a first-come, first-served basis. (Sorry, guys. Ron Weasley/Susan Bones is already taken, as Severus/Minerva was taken before I got there. But I don't see an entry for Severus/Hermione yet!)

Caeria has a friend who does this, and I thought I'd give it a try. This friend, who is also an avid fanfic writer, has many ideas, as I do. But stories change, and favorite ideas and scenes languish in fics that will never be completed and see the light of day. Instead of letting these ideas go to waste, she polishes those favorite scenes and posts them in her LJ.

I'm going to be calling these scenes FicSnips. Scenes from stories that will never be posted as a whole, but I like them so much, I want to show them off!
