1) Given a choice, and imagining that money and time were no object, would you rather cook dinner, eat out or order in?
2) What is the most elaborate meal you've ever prepared yourself or purchased at a restaurant?
3) What food do you find yourself making and/or eating way too much?
4) What was your most disastrous cooking/eating out experience?
5) Would you rather cook for someone else or have them cook for you?
1. I'm not the best, but I do have some recipes that I can make really well, so I'd rather cook.
2. There's a Chinese place nearby that delivers, and one night when I was alone I wanted everything, so I ordered about $45 worth of stuff. I made four meals out of it all, but there was quite a spread.
3. Fast food, I'm afraid.
4. I went with the mother and two aunts to Olive Garden, and the waiter was a complete git. He was impatient, he didn't listen, and he got two of our orders wrong.
5. Cook for someone else ... because whoever doesn't cook does the dishes. Besides, I'm only home to cook on Saturdays and Sundays, so I usually take over the kitchen on the weekend.
Edit: I sent these questions to my friend Cradle Robber, who's been my friend for as long as I can remember. She's a wife and mother of four (soon to be five). Here are her answers:
1) I'd totally rather eat out. That way I don't have to do the dishes and I don't have to be in the kitchen. I don't like to cook really. But I love to bake.
2) Does Thanksgiving count?
3) Sweets...can't live without them!
4) My first Thanksgiving being married, we had my inlaws over. When I was preparing the turkey I looked high and low for the bag of giblets but could not find them....But they were found after dinner, during the final clean up of the bird by my mother in law. Who proceeded to make a big stinky deal about it!
5) Have them cook for me!!!! Less work and clean up!
