I'd dropped my car off at the repair shop for some maintenance last night so it'd be first in the queue this morning, and I could still get to rehearsal on time. The customer shuttle was out and about when I called to ask them to pick me up today, so the repair rep said they'd call me once the driver got back. I waited an hour for that phone call before calling Dad, who came to my rescue. Nice part was the repair rep who comped me the maintenance after I complained about the waiting. I was an hour late for rehearsal, but I'd told Marla about the maintenance ahead of time. Yay free oil change!
Granny's house is on a three-foot platform at the back of the stage, and I have to hide behind the platform before the Wolf eats Red Riding Hood. I misjudged the distance and tipped over backwards. I hit a wall about halfway down, so I was able to slow my descent, and I came up laughing, but I still scared the hell out of everybody. I felt fine then, but I'm feeling it a little now that eight hours have passed. I asked for a step to ease my way down and back up for the scene and immediately got it, though!
Other than that, rehearsal was uneventful, and I helped Jeff set up for Love's Labour's Lost, which is being performed on the lawn outside the Mysterium for the next four weekends, and ran an errand or three. The play was a hoot! The four women were in white dresses with ribbon sashes and fans, each a different color, and the men wooing them adopted tokens of the same colors as their women, so it was easy to remember who went with whom. Silliness, a few pratfalls, and physical comedy abounded. The cast had us from the word Go. I was there to see Cody, who was in Scrooge and Marley, and I got to see a few other friends from previous Mysterium productions, including Bill and Rose, who were Henry and Eleanor in The Lion in Winter a year or two back. Then I stuck around for a bit talking audio books and cosplaying with stage manager Lisa until I went home.
Good day overall, though I'm off to ice my arse now.
