Getting more and more hacked off as the morning progresses. (Though technically, it's the afternoon now.) I love my job, but ...

Photocopier's document feeder didn't work, so I have lots of copies of half pages.

Someone at the main campus (35 miles away) is taking shortcuts when it comes to listing information on check stubs. This means I'm downstream of their shoddy work and have to do more because they can't be arsed to do their job thoroughly. (Although, to be fair, my counterpart in the law school's business office quit a while back, and I think she's the one who did the detailed stuff and transmitted the data to them. They're probably overwhelmed by her departure, but that doesn't change the fact that their cutting corners is making my job more difficult.)

A vendor sent a statement a week ago with an unallocated payment listed and an invoice from a few weeks ago for -- *gasp!* -- the same amount. It's not like $1,076.99 is a round number; if there's an open payment floating around for $X and an open invoice for $X, and that invoice number was on that check stub, did the thought occur to you that maybe the check was meant to pay for that invoice?! Now we're racking up late charges because of this!

A load of books came in with JD's name on the box. Other staff members opened it and fretted because the contents weren't in our spreadsheet of books I have ordered, so we were running around like decapitated chickens until JD came back from his deans' meeting.

I got here hours earlier than usual, so I'm a bit slower than usual.

I squee, therefore I am: When I gripe too much or am SUPREMELY HACKED OFF, I will again remind myself that I have not hit rock bottom by listing seven things that I'm grateful/glad/fangirly about.

1. staying late after every single play practice, talking with Phil

2. Girl Scout cookies (Boo-Girl called me last night so I could order some)

3. the [livejournal.com profile] sshg_exchange, which provides us with such delectable distractions to catch during lunch hour

4. Dove's milk chocolate

5. stake conference (it's a Mormon churchy thing; ours was this last weekend and it was fabulous)

6. Series F of QI! Johnny Vegas was a very pleasant surprise this time around: "Who's gonna tell Pam she probably witnessed a duck?" and "F*$^ the pigeons! Am I gay?!"

7. watching old TV like "The Clangers" and "The Wacky Races"

I'm starting to repeat myself, but hey.
