it's beginning to sound a lot like ...

I'm putting off going to work this morning until I've finished uploading Christmas music to the laptop. This means I'm going to be missing the astronomy club meeting, but that's okay; I'm not really interested in the topic. Besides, I still have a lot of work to do around here, before the landlord shows up tomorrow morning to install the new stove.
[aside] I'd made five Christmas CDs five years ago when I worked at the bank, so that we'd have music while we worked. Unfortunately, the music I chose went over like a lead balloon, so when I left the bank three years ago, the CDs went with me. I'm cool with that, though I was annoyed at the time ... if my co-workers wanted music they liked on the CDs I mixed, they should have brought CDs in for me to copy! Though I do have a few songs they liked on there, like Mariah Carey's stuff (hurk) and Run DMC's "Christmas in Hollis" (which I do like). [/aside]
So I'm uploading the stuff I like from each CD, which I will then condense into a few "good stuff" CDs and put into the players in my car and my work computer. I never like the radio stations' choices for Christmas music; I guess if I don't choose it, it's cheesy. (Yeah, right.) It doesn't help that I heard Christmas music on November first. Not the day after Thanksgiving ... the day after freaking Halloween! I haven't listened to FM radio in several weeks.
In other news, two of the other five members of the round robin like a plot idea I had! (Squee.) We're working out how to continue and conclude the story properly. None of us has ever done a round robin before, so we're all learning as we go, but I think we're doing okay. Buzzy was right; we do need to give ourselves a bit more structure, now that we're in the second act of the story. (We don't want to draw it out all the way through Valentine's Day, after all!)
