My back ached something fierce this morning, so I took the day off for a damned good thrashing from the chiropractor and rest. I also worked on the hobbit hole a bit; now all the clutter is at right angles! (Nah, I did a little more than that.)

Revised Teh Fic some more. The story takes place over six days, and I've finished the first two: Tuesday and Wednesday. Tuesday is about ten pages by itself because lots of stuff happens, and then the rest of the fic is about half again as long. Thursday and Friday are very short indeed, so I'll try to finish Thursday at the least before I hit the sack tonight, and then we get back into the meatier stuff on Saturday. I had to pull one of my favorite lines out of it to get a point across and develop Sherlock's character a bit, and I was gutted. *shrug* I'll live. My favoritest line is still in there. (Silly meta reference!)

I think I found a title! I started out using a one-word title, but it would give away the plot twisty thing at the end. (The fic is not a mystery, exactly, but there's some strange stuff going on.) So I have a recurring theme throughout the fic that Sherlock and John repeat, and the climax of the story happens when the title happens. Doesn't make sense as I explain it now, but it will. I hope. *cringes*

It's an intriguing idea that has been reblogged on Tumblr hundreds of times, so I'm sure it's already been filled at least once. I haven't looked at the original post at Tumblr since I decided to write this, for fear of borrowing ideas from someone else by accident. (There's an homage to Mad Lori's Senza in there, but that's deliberate, and I'll have a note at the end mentioning this.) I just hope I do it justice.

I had the King's Singers' "Loch Lomond" on repeat for half an hour as I worked on one scene in particular. All the violin versions on YouTube are students scratching it out at recitals or in their bedrooms with a webcam, which is pretty painful. I like Chanticleer's version too, but the King's Singers' arrangement is gorgeous. (Six days until we see them in concert!)
