family, friends, food, and rest

Nothing's perfect, of course, but I got family, friends, food, and rest. Doesn't get much better than that.
Went to the Jimbos' Friday after work, which is why I only worked half a day. Had a nice time with the nieces and put an IKEA bookcase together with Boo-Girl's and Jimbo's help. Squirt tried to get underfoot, but we banished her from her room while we worked on it. She isn't old enough for power tools yet. Crashed on Boo's spare mattress and came home early in the morning. Jimbo and Chris bicker a lot, which is hard for me to take, but holding the Wee Beastie and hanging out with Squirt made the overall situation easier.
Washed some clothes (baby sick) and then went to a singles luncheon at church Saturday. My Aunt Jo and Uncle Bob were the keynote speakers, talking about their mission to Nauvoo, Illinois. The lunch wasn't as well attended as they usually are because of the weather; old folks don't want to go out in the rain, and it was pissing down by the time everything was over. But then it cleared up again, and Phil and I stood outside talking for an hour after everyone else had gone home.
Futzed around the hobbit hole Saturday night. Phil was working, and seeing him for so short a time that afternoon made me realize how much I missed him last week -- hadn't seen him since Sunday night. And with him working Saturday and every evening from Monday to Thursday, I won't see him again any time soon. So I just read fanfic and transcribed some QI. I'd thought about going to the cinema and torturing Phil (in a nice way), but the only movie I was interested in seeing started about five minutes before I got that idea. None of the local amateur theater companies was performing anything I was interested in, either, so that was a wash. *shrug* I needed to relax anyway after all the running around I'd done so far.
I'm formulating plans to see Phil tomorrow in the middle of the day if he's willing. Not sure if he'll go for it (he has much more on his plate than just work), but it's worth a try.
And I met a new Internet friend last night!
minervamoon was in Los Angeles for Gallifrey, the Doctor Who convention. I couldn't make it to the con, but when a friend I've been wanting to meet for a couple of years is less than 30 miles from me, it's worth the drive. We hung out in the hotel lobby for a bit, and than I took her to her terminal. Not as much of a visit as I'd have liked, but I'll take what I can get. She's fun and really nice, so it was definitely worth it.
It's Monday. *feeble pom-pom wave* Yay.
