Oct. 12th, 2009 02:09 pmWe had a visitor in Sunday School yesterday. (When Mom asked, "Who was it?" I said, "Not who. What.") The biggest freaking cockroach I have ever seen in my life was crawling around on the ceiling. I didn't notice it until about five minutes before it died (more on that later), for which I am quite grateful. The people in the row behind me, who had been watching it for the entire lesson, knew the moment I saw it, because I went like this: O_O and looked straight up at it. I kept one eye on it while trying to listen to the lesson, but once I heard Sandy giggle -- she was one of those people in the row behind me -- I started getting those hysterical giggles, too.
Finally, the roach signed its death warrant by FLYING AROUND THE ROOM. It buzzed the teacher, our advisers, and Crusty before finally landing on a cabinet. Wade went after it and disposed of it for us, and we all gave him a round of applause before resuming the lesson.
I've seen all kinds of beasties at church. Spiders are easy. Mice I can handle. But roaches that are bigger than hummingbirds freak me out.
Drat it, drat it, drat it. I just thought of a story arc for Wolfsbane that would have changed everything, if I'd thought of it when I decided to revamp the fic. But it's too late to put it in now, except for a passing reference at the end. Unless I decided to write Wolfsbane 3.0, which is completely absurd. So it shall go unwritten.
*sob* It woulda been so awesome!
I just handed my baby (laptop) over to Computer Boy. I have most of my files in my jump drives, but I was in the process of backing everything up when the computer went blue screen, so if stuff is lost, it's lost. (Reorganizing my writing music is going to be a bitch if he has to wipe the entire system.) But Wolfsbane is on CD, and I am guarding that CD with my life.
Late night at work, with the serials meeting Wednesday and ham radio class tomorrow.
Sorry I'm not responding to your replies or posts. I do appreciate the comments, and I'll get caught up some day!
