canon question!

I beta-read a Potter-fic for someone who hasn't read HBP or DH all the way through, because she started said Potter-fic a few years ago. I don't have my books here, or I'd just look; could you help me answer her question, please?

I've got a question for you if you are willing to answer it. I've never read HBP or DH (well, I did read selected passages in DH just so I'd know how it ended). I decided to hold off on reading both of them because I knew if I read them that it would mess with the storyline.

But now, I've got Hermione and Snape discussing some recent wizarding history -- the first rise of Voldemort and how the Order was formed. And I figured that if Rowling had already covered that, I might incorporate some of it if it didn't conflict to much.

So, here is my question: Did she cover any of that?

I honestly can't remember.
