Lazy Saturday
Aug. 4th, 2007 12:10 pmOh, such fun! I've spent the last hour, watching Dara O'Briain on YouTube. Nine ten-minute segments of a stand-up routine, and he's absolutely hilarious, the entire time:

That's the first segment. There are links to 2/9, 3/9, etc. from that page. (I'm not going to embed all nine segments here, sorry.) Go look; he is so clever, and his interactions with the audience are fun to watch.
Bubba is sprawled out on the patio outside, like some huge, black-and-white seal. Just sacked out, soaking in the sunshine. I've caught the lazy bug from him today.
I worked late last night and didn't get my Friday ration of Chinese food (the only fast food I eat any more, except for Subway or Togo's: sandwich shops -- no burgers or French fries), so I'm going over in a few minutes to get lunch.
It's one of my responsibilities in my new job to prepare birthday cards for the women in our congregation at church, so when I was at the fabric place yesterday, I picked up some craft punches and calligraphy pens. This is one thing I have to do today: prepare about two dozen birthday cards for someone else to mail out. So I'm doing birthday cards all afternoon and cleaning out the pantry. Since I'm having such fun with the watercolor pencils and pen and ink and such, I'm tempted to start doing these elaborate, hand-drawn cards. But two years from now, I'll be so frigging sick of doing these blasted cards ... I really shouldn't start something that I'll consider a chore, this time next year. (Yes, I'll still be doing the cards, but I'll be sick of doing them pretty quick.)
Lunch time! See yous later.
Edit: Add gardening to the list. I just went out there, and half the plants are exploding out of their pots. The other half are dying. I must dead-head the lavender and trim the mint and cat grass, before they take over the patio. And Audrey needs trimming, too ....
