Progress report
Apr. 9th, 2007 09:48 amJust wanted to keep you all posted: I've had my chapter back from the betas for over a week, but some of their suggestions are quite complex and require some rewriting. Their suggestions are excellent, and the chapter is going to be that much better as a result, so thank you all for your patience.
It helps that this week is spring break at college. No school! Boo is off school this week too, so I'm taking her to Disneyland (probably Thursday). I may also take Friday off from work, so I can work on my Exchange gift and then go to my astronomy club meeting in the evening. Mom's going to be at Aunt Millie's, so it'll be quiet.
Speaking of Boo, she's gotten into a bit of trouble recently. Jimbo and SIL, though they haven't read the Harry Potter books, forbade Boo to read them. I've been advising them to let her since she turned nine, a year and a half ago, but they're her parents. However, it was recently discovered that she sneaked them all out of her school library and read them. When this was found out, Jimbo and SIL had her borrowing privileges revoked. Boo then sneaked a non-Potter book out of the library anyway, without checking it out.
No, I am of two minds on this. I don't approve of deception or disobedience, and came terribly close to canceling Disneyland because of it. However ... how can I not approve of any child whose sole instance of deception or disobedience came as a result of wanting to read?!
