If you haven't ever seen this before, watch Bob Hope in the first twelve seconds, then keep at least part of your attention on Dean Martin and you'll be able to deduce what Bob Hope was brushing off his coat.
I think what fractures me the most is that George Gobel, like Tommy Smothers and so many others, made a career out of being somewhat dim and clueless. Seeing him in a situation where he really is clueless -- "You don't believe that, do you?" @ 2:33 -- is brilliant.
